When I'm in Boston I love to come here. Our server Lucas was amazing. Friendly n courteous. We came for lunch, we had started w a mimosa so good. Then oysters, petite beef Wellington n CT lobster roll. And of course we had yo finish w sticky toffee pudding ! It's to die for.
The food is perfect for anyone a fan of Hell' Kitchen or any of the Gordon Ramsay shows and curious about what some of the food actually tastes like. Everything is cooked to order and the food is all fresh tasting and cooked exactly as ordered. Absolutely zero complaints about the quality of any of the food served. We've come here a few times now and sometimes the service is excellent and sometimes it can be a little slow. This is definitely not a fast-paced dinner environment, which is to be expected for fine dining. However, the last time we came, it took close to 15 minutes for our drinks to come and almost everyone at our table had an empty glass of water for the majority of our meal. Other times we've come, we've had the complete opposite experience, where sometimes they'd just fill our glasses or drop something off without us even noticing there were there at all or having to ask. Also worth noting is that they used to just bring you a sticky toffee pudding for birthdays (with a birthday candle in it) without even being asked (they would comp it on the bill). It was a small touch, but it went a long way towards making an evening feel more special. If anyone from management reads this, that's definitely the kind of thing you should bring back as it gives people a special moment without really costing the restaurant that much (plus it makes everyone else at the table want dessert after tasting it). Valet parking is available for a $30 fee at the Mandarin, right next door, make sure you get your valet claim ticket validated by the restaurant before you leave to get the $30 rate.
We made a reservation and were not seated in the main dining room but in the bar area. There were probably 2-3 tables that were used and a few people at random times at the bar. So not busy for a Friday night. We took advantage of the dine out Boston menu. A 3 course meal seemed like a good deal. Bread is not offered so we ordered some off the menu. We ordered the hamachi crudo for an appetizer. It was good with a jalapeño kick. For our main course we ordered salmon but were informed they did not include sides so we ordered Mac and cheese and broccolini. Salmon was cooked perfect. Dessert was sticky toffee pudding. Probably too sweet for my taste but others enjoyed it.
We made a reservation for a work dinner with my colleagues. Everyone was very attentive so the service was excellent. Everyone's food was hot and fresh. The upscale restaurant was decorated beautifully and we were seated at a table with a large window next to it which made the people watching fun. I recommend this place for small intimate dinners or for bigger parties as well.
Loved my experience at Ramsay's Kitchen! I'm a huge Gordon fan so I wanted to see if his food would live up to the hype and it definitely did. The wings and filet were amazing! My boyfriend got the salmon and he loved it too. I was worried the service would be too quick for my liking but it was perfectly paced. I wish the prices were a bit lower but we really enjoyed our experience.
Back bay delight. This spot is as advertised. Ambiance, engaging wait staff and really good food. The pics speak for themselves. The prices are consistent with Boston Back Bay restaurants...... Location premium. Well worth a visit ---- Restaurant Bucket List.
Went here on a Friday night and had heard good things about the restaurant before going. I ordered the chickpea tikka masala and my friend ordered the beef Wellington after being told it was a signature of the restaurant. The style and presentation of the chickpea tikka masala was good, but the flavor was a bit disappointing. It didn't particularly have as much flavor as I expected and the bread included with it also didn't have too much to it. While it wasn't my dish, from what I tried of it it seemed overly salted. I think the idea and concept was really cool, but it didn't seem to have as much interesting flavor as expected. The servers were very kind. For dessert I shared the strawberry Eton mess and vanilla mascarpone cheesecake. Both of these were extremely creative but I again wasn't blown away by the flavor of them.
